Summary:

Our client wanted to add two spacious bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen to their semi-detached home in Uxbridge to better accommodate their growing family.

This project involved a semi-detached family home in Uxbridge with a traditional hipped roof that limited the usable loft space. The homeowners wanted to maximise the potential of their attic and create a completely new floor within the property.
After a detailed survey, we recommended a hip-to-gable loft conversion combined with a dormer to significantly increase head height and floor area. This structural change allowed us to transform the narrow loft into a spacious and practical living space.
The new gable wall blended seamlessly with neighbouring properties while the dormer provided excellent natural light and ventilation.

Client’s Problem
The family had outgrown their home and needed more functional living space without the stress and cost of moving.
Their main challenges included:

  • Limited bedroom space for the growing household
  • No additional bathroom or kitchen to support daily routines
  • Restricted loft space due to the sloping hip roof
  • Need for extra storage throughout the home

The homeowners wanted a long-term solution that would improve comfort and add value to the property.

Solution
Our team redesigned the roof structure to create a full-width loft space and a practical new layout.
The project included:

  • Conversion of the hipped roof into a vertical gable wall
  • Two spacious and well-lit bedrooms
  • A modern bathroom fitted into the new loft floor
  • A compact and functional kitchen area
  • Bespoke storage built into the eaves
  • Improved insulation and ventilation for year-round comfort

The completed conversion created a brand-new level within the home, providing the family with the space they needed while significantly increasing the property's overall value.
