Type of Loft Conversion:

Rear Dormer Loft Conversion

Timeline:

8–10 Weeks

Summary:

The homeowners wanted to transform their unused loft into a master bedroom, a children’s room and a new bathroom to make their home more family-friendly.

This project focused on unlocking the potential of an underused loft in a family home on Goldsmith Avenue in Acton. The attic space had suitable roof height but lacked proper flooring, insulation and natural light.
Following a detailed inspection, we recommended a rear dormer loft conversion to expand the available space and create a comfortable new floor within the home.
The rear dormer allowed us to significantly increase headroom while introducing large windows that filled the loft with natural daylight.

Client’s Problem
The family needed additional space as their child was growing and the existing layout no longer met their needs.
Their key concerns were:

  • No dedicated bedroom for their child
  • Lack of an additional bathroom in the house
  • Insufficient storage space for family life
  • An empty loft that was not being used effectively

The homeowners wanted a practical and long-term solution that would make the house more comfortable and increase its value.

Solution
We designed a new loft layout that created a functional and welcoming living space for the family.
The project included:

  • A bright and spacious master bedroom
  • A cosy children’s bedroom designed for comfort and safety
  • A modern bathroom fitted within the new floor
  • Large rear dormer windows for natural light and ventilation
  • Custom-built storage integrated into the eaves

The completed conversion provided the family with the additional space they needed while seamlessly blending with the rest of the property.
