Type of Loft Conversion:

Rear Dormer Loft Conversion

Timeline:

8–10 Weeks

Summary:

The homeowners wanted to create two additional bedrooms and a new bathroom by converting their unused loft space.

This project involved converting the loft of a family home on Harp Road in Hanwell into a spacious and functional new living area. The attic had limited head height and was previously used only for storage.
After a detailed structural assessment, we recommended a rear dormer loft conversion to maximise usable floor space and create full standing height. This approach allowed us to transform the loft into a bright and comfortable new floor.
Large rear dormer windows were installed to bring in natural daylight and create a welcoming living environment.

Client’s Problem
The family needed more bedrooms as their household was growing, but moving home was not their preferred option.
Their key challenges included:

  • Not enough bedrooms for the family’s needs
  • Only one main bathroom in the property
  • Unused loft space that lacked safe access
  • Limited storage throughout the home

The homeowners wanted a practical solution that would provide additional space while increasing the value of the property.

Solution
We designed a layout that transformed the loft into a fully functional new level.
The project included:

  • Two bright and comfortable bedrooms
  • A modern bathroom fitted into the loft space
  • Large rear dormer windows for maximum natural light
  • Custom storage built into the eaves
  • Improved insulation and ventilation for year-round comfort

The completed conversion created a seamless extension of the home, giving the family the extra space they needed while significantly enhancing the property’s overall value.
